Wikipedia is devoted to free, reliable, and neutral knowledge. We are not against online advertising, but we will not run ads on Wikipedia.

You can generally use text from a Wikipedia article in your own book, article, or website, but you must comply with the appropriate license. There is also a configuration file listing all closed Wikimedia projects. These Wikipedias use language codes that do not conform to the ISO standard which is how wiki subdomains are chosen nowadays. Note that renaming wiki subdomains is very difficult , which is why so many of these nonstandard codes are still in use despite the existence of alternatives.
