If you can see movement or see your menu then its backlight failure. If totally black screen with sound then its T-Con board. Next- Look at back of TV, where the top air vents are, and tell me if you see light shining through back panel. I'll let you know as soon as it happens It will go out eventually. You just made me think of something I directed the flow vents away from the back of the television but it's still produces some warm air in the region I didn't think it would cause a disturbance to the television, but could it?

You do want to remove the back of your TV set and take a look at the board. Post some images of your boards with your question. Use this guide for that. It will allow us to see what you see. Before anything else, please double check the warranty status on this set. It is really not that old and may still be covered.
It will depend on what exactly has failed. If you let us know the exact make and model of your TV and what the issues are with it, we may have a better answer for you. I have the same problem the make of the TV is TCS2 Panasonic can anyone help out on this issue I am gonna blow the fans and back of the TV to see if dust jammed the fans and that's why it's shutting itself off and wait to see if someone else has a suggestion or a fix!

I also think it is a hardware issue, but was hopeing someone had come across same issue and found that it was main board or power supply or something else. I've had the back off and can't see anything obvious.
It might be a dry joint, but finding that is way beyond my skills. Worth trying a factory reset first I think. I've had a somewhat similar problem lately with my GZ It was powering off and on after an undefined period watching netflix, but a factory reset which will not reset software updates seems to have fixed it.
