What makes green goblin a villain

He is portrayed by Willem Dafoe. After Harry found out that Spider-Man didn't want to help save his life from his hereditary genetic illness, he decides to join forces with Electro against Spider-Man and kill him.

Chris Cooper played Norman Osborn , and there, moments before his death from his illness, he appeared in the movie The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as a minor antagonist. He will once again be portrayed by Willem Dafoe, who previously played his Spider-Man trilogy incarnation. He also appeared in the Broadway musical and was portrayed by Patrick Page.

The Green Goblin comes up with a plan to genetically alter other humans as he did himself. Through his experiments on his former employees, he manages to create six villains: Carnage , Electro , Kraven the Hunter , Lizard , Swarm , and Swiss Miss. The Goblin and his new alliance of criminals - calling themselves the " Sinister Six " - go on a rampage through New York.

Spider-Man quickly defeats the Sinister Six as the citizens of New York cheer him on, unaware that the Goblin has managed to escape. The Goblin arrives at the Daily Bugle and tells Jameson to print his plans of dominating the world through genetic mutation. Later that night, Arachne comes to Peter in a vision and explains that she is his guardian along with the reminder that being a hero is his destiny and he cannot escape it.

While there, the Green Goblin intercepts the club's TV signal and sends a message to Spider-Man threatening his loved ones. Peter takes Mary Jane to his apartment and breaks off their relationship for good so that his enemies won't target her. After telling Mary Jane that he will always love her, Peter takes a walk and realizes that he needs to be a hero not only for Mary Jane but for the world.

The Goblin sits at a piano at the top of the Chrysler Building and humorously boasts to the audience of his plan to destroy New York City. Spider-Man arrives ready to fight, but is soon unmasked when the Goblin reveals he knows Spider-Man's true identity.

Peter attempts to revive the good-natured Norman within the Goblin, but to no avail. Peter engages the Goblin in combat, but before he can finish him the Goblin reveals that he has Mary Jane, who now dangles from the Chrysler Building. A flying battle over the audience takes place and when it seems all hope is lost, Spider-Man webs the Goblin to his piano. The Goblin, not realizing this, thrusts the piano over the side of the Chrysler Building, taking him down to his death.

After Spider-Man saves Mary Jane, she tells him not to leave and reveals that she has guessed who he is. Peter removes his mask and they embrace.

Harry and Peter were best friends, and it was clear that Harry suffered a lot in his life because of his overbearing father. Sadly, being the son of the Green Goblin meant bad things for Harry and Peter's relationship. Harry developed issues with Spider-Man, and this caused him to become Peter's enemy more often than not. If there is one thing that Doc Ock has in his favor as Spider-Man's best villain, it is the fact that he remains consumed with Spider-Man's downfall.

Doc Ock stuck with Spider-Man in his rogue's gallery his entire career. On the other hand, Norman Osborn had other goals in mind, and he became a thorn in the side of Tony Stark when he formed the Dark Avengers and became a major Marvel villain more than just a Spidey villain.

What is worse than killing Gwen Stacy? This event happened after Norman Osborn faked his death and then started the Clone Wars and did a lot to destroy Peter Parker's life. His most heinous moment, and possibly the worst thing that any Spider-Man villain ever did to the Wall-Crawler, came in Amazing Spider-Man Mary Jane delivered their baby, and then a nurse named Alison Mongrain carried off the baby and delivered her to Norman Osborn.

The doctors told Peter and Mary Jane that the baby was stillborn. When it comes to Peter Parker, there is one person he holds above all others. With Uncle Ben's death as the leading factor to him becoming a superhero, protecting Aunt May became his biggest concern.

Doc Ock became a tenant of May Parker, and that allowed him to get to know her better. When Aunt May inherited an island that included an atomic plant, Doc Ock decided he should marry her to get it for himself. Of course, the fact that Doc Ock was manipulating May's heart made the cover of Amazing Spider-Man with the wedding such a diabolical moment for Doc Ock as Spider-Man's greatest villain.

If Doc Ock trying to manipulate Aunt May's heart to marry her was bad, imagine what Spider-Man has to think of the man who killed her. However, years before that, May was thought to be dead as well. It was tragic, as she slipped into a coma and came out long enough to tell Peter that she knew his secret all along and was proud of him before she died. The problem is that she didn't die.

It was a trick by Norman Osborn that was unveiled in Amazing Spider-Man when the Green Golbin explained that he hired an actress to pretend to be May and then die to drive Peter to the brink of despair. Green Goblin is just the worst.

Spider-Man fans may remember that Osborn took a serum that affected his mind, turning him into the dangerous supervillain Green Goblin.

Later, his son, Peter Parker's best friend Harry Osborn, follows his father's footsteps to become the new Green Goblin after his father's supposed death. Harry later died, but now both Osborns are back, though not as they were before. Amazing Spider-Man 72 by Nick Spencer and Marcelo Ferreira reveals how the father and son's goblin destinies are inextricably linked through another Marvel Comics villain.

Amazing Spider-Man is in the midst of the "Sinister War" event arc.
